Asbestos
There is no doubt about the dangers of asbestos. Since the 2006 Royal Decree, all construction workers who come into contact with asbestos are required to undergo training on the handling of this material.
This training is for people who have sporadic or regular contact with asbestos, and are required to take appropriate training. The training is addressed to those who remove asbestos or bonded asbestos-containing material. Specifically through the technique of simple operations where the risk of asbestos release is very limited.

Yes, in Belgium safety training is mandatory when employees work in high-risk environments or may encounter specific hazards. It is the employer’s responsibility to provide such training.
For example, since 2023, basic safety training has been compulsory for all employees and self-employed workers performing work on temporary or mobile construction sites (Royal Decree on Basic Safety Training). Fire extinguishing training and refresher training is imposed by the Codex Welfare Act. Book III Title 3 Article III.3-8 mentions that the firefighting service must have received the necessary training to use fire extinguishers.

Yes, every participant receives a certificate of participation after successful completion of training. This shows that you have the necessary knowledge and skills to work safely within the relevant training area.
Most safety training courses are held in-company. This saves travelling time for employees and it also helps them learn to handle their own work equipment correctly. We also offer open sessions for our firefighting and basic construction safety courses.
